Kids Clubs
You'll probably become very familiar with Cabanas on your cruise, because it is the main buffet restaurant. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner (for those who prefer to skip their rotational dining or are late to their Main Dining seating). So much variety here, they serve snacks, appetizers, desserts and entrees of every kind. Various selections will change from meal to meal, while others are constant fixtures on the menu. If you find a favorite dish, (Mickey Mouse pancakes anyone?) this can be comforting for finicky eaters, especially your little ones. Adults traveling with children will find a good mix of family activities and adults-only activities on Disney Magic.

Mouse ears and costumes are encouraged, and you'll see little princesses and pirates roaming the ship, as well as Marvel costumes during Marvel Day at Sea; adults often dress up for the latter, as well as Pirate Night. It doesn't feel old, but it is smaller and a touch more quaint than the line's newest ships. I found it easier than on Wish to simply enjoy what comes with the experience instead of feeling like you need to spend $10, $20, $50 or more several times a day to get the full experience. Disney Magic, like the other Disney ships, has a movie theater where you can see first-run Disney movies. Since there is only one movie theater on Magic, it offers a smaller choice of movies than on the ships with two theaters, but it's still a nice selection. The youth staff offer some structured games and activities, but Vibe is largely a place to hang out, play video games and get to know other teens.

Each night on the Disney Magic, a signature entertainment event will be hosted in the Walt Disney Theatre. I tend to spend a lot of time visiting the Beverage Station on Deck 9.
For the Disney Magic, it feels like I’m just walking around the corner. This makes the Disney Magic a great option for your first-ever Disney Cruise — it might not feel quite as overwhelming as a larger ship could. As I mentioned, for me, the bars weren't inviting spaces when compared to my own cabin's balcony. This is in stark contrast to all the beautiful bars and lounges on Wish I was excited to spend time in. If you ever get the chance to sail on Disney Magic — or any of the Disney ships — don't miss the Sail Away party that takes place shortly after the muster drill as the ship pulls out to sea. Arrive a few minutes early to get a spot by the stage, especially if you have little kids. The heart of Disney Cruise Line's kid clubs are the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab, which are connected and available to kids from ages 3 to 12 who are potty trained.

For US$75 per person, you'll be able to meet the head chef and tour the galley, as well as dine on a multi-course meal at a private table, while watching the chefs at work. ONBOARD DINING
The only difference between a category 4 stateroom and a category 5 is about 30 square feet at the end of the cabin, just before the verandah. In this extra space is a twin murphy bed that pulls down from the wall. These are all inside staterooms, but this is considered the “deluxe” choice. Each room contains one queen bed (or two twin beds), a single convertible sofa, and a split-bathroom design. This nursery service does require an additional (nominal) fee for each half-hour, with a one-hour minimum.

Inside there are tons of kid-friendly spaces and activities, and it’s all included in the cost of your Disney cruise! This amazing kids club is one of the reasons we consider Disney to be the best cruise line for children. It’s not buffet style at night – you’ll have a server at your table – but it’s a nice alternative if you’ve had your fill of the main dining rooms on a longer cruise.
It might be the first Disney Cruise ship, but thanks to continued updates (plus a major refurbishment in 2013), the Disney Magic is still a great ship. Onboard you’ll find spacious guest rooms, ample dining, lots of lively activities and entertainment, and plenty of places to relax and enjoy the open ocean. Aft-View Extended Balcony staterooms feature a larger balcony for more lounge-around room, more kick-back space; not to even mention some of the best stern-side views you'll find anywhere.
The main pool onboard the ship, Goofy’s Pool on deck 9 serves as the family pool onboard. In addition to the large main pool, you’ll also find a couple of whirlpool tubs nearby. The giant FunnelVision video screen and a large stage are nearby, so there’s always something to keep you entertained while swimming. Intended for ages 3+ (must be toilet trained), with adult supervision required for those under age 16. This pool is occasionally closed so that it can be covered and used as additional deck space for major events, such as the sail-away party. It’s worth noting that while the larger Disney ships tend to upsize everything — meaning that theatres, dining rooms, and pools might be bigger — most of the ships still have relatively equal offerings.
Many passengers struggle to decide between Carnival Magic and Carnival Breeze when looking at Caribbean itineraries. Both are Dream-class ships, which means they’re similar in size and offerings. However, Breeze has a cuter color palette in cabins and features an additional for-fee restaurant, Bonsai Sushi. Since the differences are pretty small, it will be down to price for most passengers. Travel agents offer Onboard Credit — that’s free spending money that you can use toward purchases you make while you’re onboard the ship! Use it towards specialty dining, spa treatments, souvenirs, shore excursions, gratuities, and more!
Character cameos, water slides, multiple pools, an excellent kids’ club, and a fun activities schedule keep cruisers busy during the day and into the night. For those who wish to stay away from the kids for a while, the ship offers various adult-only options, including a quiet pool, a restaurant, several bars, and a spa. There are a few Disney-themed venues that are appropriately colorful and exuberant on the Disney Magic ship, but much of the ship's appeal lies in the fact that it's designed for everyone, not just Disney fanatics and kids. What makes the spaces work is that the rules are enforced; we've never seen so many children (and parents with babies) chased out of a public space before. The 3690-passenger ship Carnival Magic was built in 2011 for USD 740 million.
